I am a native of Germany and grew up in Munich. Trained as a biologist and biochemist in Germany I spent most of my life as a research scientist and came to the University of California in 1981 on a fellowship. I worked there until my retirement and live with my husband in California and in Germany.

      Near the end of my scientific work I acquired a degree in graphic design and digital imaging. This training let to a pursuit of printmaking and later of painting. Having learned the basic techniques of intaglio and relief printmaking and of painting, I set off on my own and since then pursue my ideas in my own studio.
